WEEK 1 & 2 - VOCABULARY & SPEAKING & LISTENING

FRIDAY 2nd May 2025 - TO START p.129 - unit 7 -

a) Warm-up: What does NASA stand for? It stands for ...  Practice with the following acronyms:  IES, CEP, CEIP, AMIPA, ASAP, LOL, FYI, OMG, DONE

b) Practicing adjectives & having a conversation. We just practiced WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AN ASTRONAUT? Yes/No. It would be + ADJECTIVE from the basic English.

HOMEWORK: Write 50 words giving reasons for your answer.


TUESDAY 6/05/25 - Taylor Austin's presentation.


WEDNESDAY 7/05/25 - Reading comprehension text, p.136-137. Hand in the papers to the teacher.


FRIDAY 9/05/25 -  Listening activity.

HOMEWORK: A) Copy the following vocabulary:

1) POSITIVE ADJECTIVES: awesome, spectacular, amazing, epic, exciting, extraordinary, impressive, incredible, exhilarating, rare/unique.

2) NEGATIVE ADJECTIVES: scary, aprehensive, worrying, frightening, dizzy or dizzing, awful, terrible, overwhelming, strange,

3) NEUTRAL ADJECTIVES: different, interesting (US=strange).

4) MY FEELINGS: scared, excited, worried, curious, overwhelmed,

5) THE ASTRONAUT'S FEELINGS: daring / wreckless, brave, couragious, calm, worried, focused.

B) Watch one of these documentaries about Apollo 11 and the landing on the Moon.

C) Answer these questions:

1) What are the names of the astronauts of Apollo 11?

2) What date did they land on the Moon?

3) What famous words did Neil Amstrong say when he touched the Moon?

D) Write 5 sentences about the documentary with 5 or more adjectives from above (include the scene). For example:

OPTION A: "(From the scene of the lift-off): The lift-off of the rocket was exhilarating, but also frightening, because it is a very different experience from normal and they are flying into the unknown".

OPTION B:  "(From the scene of the lift-off): It must be very exciting to be an astronaut aboard the rocket, but it must also be overwhelming and a little bit scary, because it is a very different experience from normal and they are flying into the unknown".

WEEK 3 -  VOCABULARY & READING

TUESDAY 13/05/25 - A) Hand in all the homework (from Friday 2nd & Friday 9th).

HOMEWORK: Write three sentences about the videos you have watched. Use adjectives. Give an opinion with your reasoning.


WEDNESDAY 14/05/25 - How to read and answer reading comprehension questions.

Warm-up: how to think in English = what can I say with "there is/are", "can", "have got", past tense, future, ADJECTIVES, etc...

Then, read and work in pairs. p.130, 131. GUIDED WRITING.


FRIDAY 16/05/25 - Exercises 4, 5, 6. p. 132. Ex. 6 guided writing.


WEEK 4 -  SPEAKING & GRAMMAR; reading & culture

TUESDAY 20/05/25 - PRESENTATION WITH TAYLOR AUSTIN.

WEDNESDAY 21/05/25 - Grammar comparatives & superlatives p.134-135.

FRIDAY 23/05/25 -  Start doing the activities in WORKBOOK UNIT 7.

HOMEWORK: finish the workbook unit 7 at home.


WEEK 5 -  SPEAKING & ORAL EXAM PREPARATION

PREPARE PROJECT 2 or 3 (choose one) IN "MAKE AN IMPACT" SECTION p.143

TUESDAY 27/05/25 - A) Review the vocabulary, grammar and speaking strategies you have seen in this unit. B) Brainstorm ideas for your project. C) Make a draft of your project.
