WEEK 24/03/25 - 28/03/25   FOCUS ON COMMUNICATION, NOT ACCURACY

TUESDAY 25/03/25 - TO START p.60   DONE

1) quote vs. citation. Bibliography.

2) how to write a project with citations.

HOMEWORK: answer the questions on page 61. Focus on communication.


REMEMBER: we answer questions in three parts = S + V + Complement, so people can UNDERSTAND us.

WEDNESDAY 26/03/25 - Qs & As p.111   DONE

Warm-up: correct hmk p.60. Did they communicate? Did they use the three-part rule?

1) Vocabulary use: what do we call the text at the top the page? Do you agree or disagree? What is your opinion on the subject?

2) Review the grammar and the vocabulary in the questions.

3) Read and answer the questions (given as homework yesterday). Give your opinion orally. Focus on communication, not grammar.

4) Write your opinion down in your notebook. How can you improve on your message?

HOMEWORK: Write down the final improved version of your opinion.


FRIDAY 28/03/25 - THE EXPERTS' OPINION p.112-113  DONE

1) Read the first question. Give your opinion. Using WOULD & WOULD LIKE.

2) Read the text.

3) Interpret the information. How can we improve the communication?

4) Write a summary with the communication rule.

5) Answer question three. Give your opinion. Write down the improved version.

HOMEWORK: Write your opinion for the question on p.112. Also, ex. 2, p.114. Do you like your school building? why?

STUDY FOR EXAM: Write a list of the words in bold. Define them in your notebook. Remember the communication rule. Make a list of 10 additional words you don't understand and write the translation.


WEEK 31/03/25 - 4/04/25   PLANNING BUILDINGS.

TUESDAY 1/04/25 - TO START p.114

Warm-up: correct hmk.

1) Vocabulary. Ex's 6.1 & 6.2. Orally.

2) Describing your house with adjectives. PARTS OF A BUILDING. Using adjectives.

3) Planning with WOULD. Syntax & the communication rule. Substitute IT HAS/THERE IS with WOULD HAVE.

GROUP HOMEWORK: Bring ideas to the table. Look at the workbook, ex.5, p.109. Which building from the list would I like to renovate? Why? Research your choice. Print the research. Bring to the table as much information as possible on your choice. Research your building for quotations.

WEDNESDAY 2/04/25 - DESIGN A THREE-PART BROCHURE FOR A GOVERNMENT GRANT.

1) Decide which building you would like to renovate. Vocabulary use: PARTS OF A BUILDING.

2) Write your speech (your opinion with the vocabulary in bold p.113, 114).

3) DESIGN YOUR BROCHURE. Prepare the text. Use WOULD (with adjectives) to describe the new place. Use the SPEAKING STRATEGY on page 115.

HOMEWORK: Prepare the brochure. Learn the text by heart. Each group must decide on a single building. You must RENOVATE parts of this building. Each person of the group will speak of one part of the renovation. Each part must have a photo and a quotation.

FRIDAY 2nd May 2025 - TO START p.129 - unit 7 - Practicing adjectives & having a conversation. We just practiced WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE?

a) Warm-up: What does NASA stand for? It stands for ...  Practice with the following acronyms:  IES, CEP, CEIP, AMIPA, ASAP, LOL, FYI, OMG, DONE


b) Vocabulary and keep practicing conversation:

1) POSITIVE ADJECTIVES: awesome, spectacular, amazing, epic, exciting, extraordinary, impressive, incredible, exhilarating.

2) NEGATIVE ADJECTIVES: scary, aprehensive, worrying, frightening, dizzy or dizzing, awful, terrible, overwhelming,

3) NEUTRAL ADJECTIVES: different, interesting (US vs UK)

4) MY FEELINGS: scared, excited, worried, curious, overwhelmed,

5) THE ASTRONAUT'S FEELINGS: daring / wreckless, brave, couragious, calm, worried, focused.

c) Having a conversation. Review the speaking strategy p. 115. Practice a conversation with TO START questions.
